I was told it is not good to wash them too often. Does anyone know why?

I think it's not very good to wash your russian toy that often Sweetheart. I washed my Lord only if he gets dirty from playing outside.

Some Russian Toys love water. You can make a little swimming pool for him/her. But don't wash with a soap or shampoo for more than 2-3 times a year, otherwise your dog gets too dirty.

What do you mean a 'swimming pool'? Can they swim?

No no no, sweetheart! Don't misunderstand me. Most of them don't know how to swim . I am talking about some small and shallow swimming pool. They like to wet their feet in water and long haired ones love to lay down into it when it is very hot outside.

Yeah, that swimming pool would be probably great, but I live in an apartment. I have no room for a swimming pool

Put him in your bath with some water and let him play there for a while

Just don't use shampoo every time you wash your Russian toy. Most of the time you can just use water. And 2-3 times a year wash him/her with shampoo

I didn't think about washing him just with water... Thanks angelstoy! It helps a lot! Some times when he gets dirty, I wash him but feel guilty doing it . He loves to dig and gets very dirty sometimes.

I just wanted to say that I tried to give him a shower without soap and it seems like it works. He is clean and happy. I even like it more than when I was washing him with shampoo every time. It is much easier this way
